Good afternoon everyone and welcome back to The Attis Arena for the first home game of the new Enterprise National League season. We are sure that this will be an exciting and successful season for the Iron.

A warm welcome is extended to supporters, players, directors and personnel of the Cards. We hope that it will be an entertaining game and that the Iron are celebrating a victory come the final whistle.

We’ve had a busy Summer here at Study United with lot of exciting activities taking place for children throughout North Lincolnshire. We hosted 5 Lego & Lunch sessions, (part of North Lincolnshire Council’s HAF/Fuelled programme) in our study centre and around the stadium.

We also supported North Lincolnshire Libraries and The Imagination Library at Barton’s Picnic in the Park and the Ongo Carnival in Scunthorpe. Hundreds of children came along and took part in our activities, themed around the ever popular Nick Sharratt and Giles Andreae book, “Pants”.

Dad’s Together Group

Our Dad’s Together Group has had a fantastic first year and has become more and more popular. So much so that we are now offering two sessions each Saturday they are run. Our first of the new season was this morning where we offered Summer craft activities and designing a new football kit, alongside our regular Lego, playdough, story area, baby area and much more. It was great to see our dads, male carers and children back in the study centre. Many of whom are massive Iron fans and are looking forward to this afternoon’s match.

With the autumn term rapidly approaching, we are busy recruiting local schools on to our exciting Autumn programmes. More on that next time.

If you work at a school or have any specific involvement as a parent or governor and you would like to find out more about this project or any other learning programme we offer to schools please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
