Scunthorpe United Reading Stars - Berkeley Primary and Frederick Gough
This week we have been excited to start our Scunthorpe United Reading Stars programme, Studio Sessions here at the Study Centre. Fourteen year 5 pupils from Berkeley Primary joined us on Thursday, followed by 14 Year 7’s from Frederick Gough on Friday.
Both classes started off with a ground tour of The Attis Arena, learning about the history of the club and the stadium. Frederick Gough were lucky to bump into Andy Butler and Joey Dawson, after their busy morning training session, who stopped for a quick chat.
Back in the classroom, we talked about the importance of good questioning techniques in interviews. We recapped the 5W’s and why they are important. We spoke about facts and opinions and the need to know the difference between them and the need to do research before an interview takes place.
In pairs our pupils researched the current Scunthorpe United Squad and began to work on some questions to ask them. Back at school, they’ll finish off those questions before returning to the Study Centre to interview some players in our green screen studio.
