Good afternoon everyone and welcome back to The Attis Arena for this Enterprise National League match.
A warm welcome is extended to supporters, players, directors and personnel of the (other!) Iron. We hope that it will be an entertaining game and that the Iron are celebrating a victory come the final whistle.
Run With IT programme
Last week we welcomed back pupils from The Grange Primary School and Brigg Primary, taking part in our Run With IT Enrichment programme. It was an exciting session where our groups of pupils ventured into our green screen studio to record their very own “TV shows”. The previous week we toured more areas of the stadium, learning about the history of The Iron and both The Old Showground and The Attis Arena. Scripts were then written ready to read off the autocue.
Every single pupil did brilliantly and we’re looking forward to sharing the programmes with their schools. We also spent some time working on our iPads and Comic Life App to produce some new advertising for the ever popular Scunny Bunny soft toy available in the club shop. This was great fun and the pupils came up with some fantastic new adverts and slogans.
Dads Together
Our ever-popular Dads Together group took place this morning. It was great to see our many dads, uncles, grandads and carers and their children. We made sparkly baubles, stars and Christmas trees on our BBC Micro:bit mini computers and got into an autumnal mood with leaf drawing and hedgehog leaf creations. As always, we played with the Lego and playdough and had lots of fun!
We’d like to thank the Iron’s Oli Rose, Maison Campbell and Jean Belehouan who popped into see us all at our last session on the 25th October before that match again Aldershot.
Our next and final session for 2025 will be on the 6th December just before the Tamworth match.
We have two sessions available, 09:30-11:00 and 11:30-13:00. It’s free to attend and you don’t need to book. We look forward to seeing you there.
If you work at a school or have any specific involvement as a parent or governor and you would like to find out more about this project or any other learning programme we offer to schools please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can contact us by telephone 07385 427656, or by email contactus@studyunited.org.uk or alternatively visit our website www.studyunited.org.uk for more information.
Up the Iron!
